Wind damage is often visible: missing, lifted, or torn shingles, and displaced flashing or gutters. Hail damage is frequently invisible from the ground. It can include bruised or fractured shingles, granule loss that shows up as bare dark spots or granules collecting in gutters, dented soft metals like vents and flashing, and cracked window screens. A roof can have significant hail damage with no obvious signs from the driveway, which is why a professional inspection after any major storm is the reliable way to check, rather than a visual check from ground level.
1. Free roof inspection. SPC inspects the roof, gutters, soft metals, and other exterior components and documents any storm-related damage with photos.
2. Filing the claim. If damage is present, the homeowner files a claim with their insurance carrier.
3. Adjuster meeting. SPC can meet with the insurance adjuster on-site to point out damage and answer construction-related questions.
4. Scope of work and estimate. Once the adjuster's assessment is available, SPC provides an estimate for the covered repair or replacement.
5. Repair or replacement. SPC completes the approved work using the materials specified in the claim.
6. Final inspection. SPC reviews the completed work and confirms the property is clean before the job is closed out.
